Weekly Update – In Progress

Feb 9, 2017 | Life in Progress

I’m obsessed with Instagram – it’s my favorite online home! Here’s a recap from the last week, and for those of you who aren’t on Instagram, come and join me!

Thursday, February 2

You guys. I was forced to put this up on our Little Free Library after a book bandit has been taking off with our books for months and months. I was hoping he’d move on (and I do wish him well) but he never did. Hoping this does the trick;).

You guys. Moving my studio back home meant finding new homes in my house for various pieces (like this mantel!) which meant some major fluffing has been taking place over at home. I put this mantel in our master bedroom and I’m digging it. The piece on it is a small vintage tufted silk headboard that a friend gave me. How adorbs is it on top of a mantel? LOVE!!!

Friday, February 3

Having yet another snow day except it’s ice. This morning we snuggled extra long with ALL the stuffies (Mom, I love these guys.”). True asked me to tell him the story again of how, when I was his age, I was walking home alone from school when I got swarmed by bees. A friendly neighbor saw my distress and scooped me up, took me to his house, plopped me on the bathroom sink and proceeded to cover my bites with toothpaste before sending me on my way. True loves hearing my tales of being a latchkey kid, and I love remembering the adventures of how I came to be pretty independent (for better or worse).

Saturday, February 4

Going through some memory boxes and found this. Those were SO the days. I remember feeling so carefree and loving how Natalie Merchant was too, dancing and twirling on stage. I was a senior in high school, 17 years old.

Sunday, February 5

Using colors I normally wouldn’t use. Hello, deep blue. Also, I’m super curious to see where this piece is heading. In progress.

Monday, February 6

Dreaming of one of these fancy garden sheds in the backyard. I flipped through decor magazines this weekend, something I haven’t done in a lonnng time and it felt like home. This was from a garden flea magazine (better homes and gardens, I think) and it prompted John and I to get out paper and pen and start sketching/dreaming out backyard plans. Think we can fit a large covered patio (outdoor living room), a cute shed like this one, a small hot tub, and raised veggie beds in our small backyard?

Sending much love,

Love this shed idea and I KNOW you can do it!….I see a small vegetable garden that is True’s ….he will toil the soil, plant the seeds and everyone will reap the harvest. Then of course are the flowers that cause one’s soul to dance.
