I’m obsessed with Instagram – it’s my favorite online home! Here’s a recap from the last week, and for those of you who aren’t on Instagram, come and join me!
Thursday, January 12
Last evening here. Have super enjoyed our family winter break and also excited about getting home. Something about going home feels like new beginnings. Love that feeling. Thank you, Hawaii. We have so enjoyed your breezes, and your slooooow ways. Snowy Portland, see you soon.

One last photo before we leave.
Saturday, January 14
Home! Snow on the ground. Sunshine in the sky. Gratitude in my heart.
Monday, January 16
We all have been so happy to be reunited with this one. While we were gone, True said “I sure do miss our snoring sausage,” and now we’ve all been referring to her as Lulu the Snoring Sausage!
I cannot let this day go by without honoring Dr. Martin Luther King. I listened to a couple of his speeches today and found myself in total awe. I snagged this image from @girlsgonechild as this quote hit me hard. I have been feeling the emergence of my voice lately. I hesitate from calling it my “political voice” because it seems more like my “humanity voice.” I don’t want to be a moderate white person who is okay with the absence of tension, but rather a person who can rise up, speak for and with my brothers and sisters, and trust that the tension is the road to change and peace. I will be marching this weekend and this is one of the many reasons of why I march. Thank you, Dr. King.

They say it’s gonna melt soon. So ready for life and schools and the city to get back to normal, but I’m gonna miss the quiet of the snow.
Wednesday, January 18
Morning!
It’s everyday scenes like this one that I want marked in my heart forever.
Found a treasure in the melting snow (see the rest of my heart collection here).
