illustration friday – feet

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love.” – rumi

these are the very first bare feet i’ve painted. i love going barefoot, though living in Oregon rarely gives me the opportunity (because it’s so cold!).

since discovering my art i:

don’t mind so much when the dishes and laundry pile up

take my time in whatever it is i’m doing

feel proud of myself for taking the leap

feel more like life is little work and more play

i get up earlier on my days off so i can get to the art table sooner

feel more of life’s simplicity

feel more free, myself, easygoing

listen to more music

obsess over backgrounds and faces

have learned that dreaming can take you to very real places

Sending much love,

Very cute piece. This reminds me, in a way, of art by Misty Mawn. Great colors and you did a really fabulous job on the feet. They are hard to paint! Brandi

Your work is so magically feminine–beautiful. I love her wordy wings, her bird crown, the richly layered textures of paint and miscellaneous type/music.

This is really outstanding! The feet turned out so well, and our choice of colors makes this feel very grounded. The background texture sets the firgure off nicely, especially since the skin is smoothly textured. I love the little flowers, too:> It’s so true that once you start opening up those creative doors, everything feels different!

I love this glimpse into what you are beginning to let go of through creating. You are finding yourself in a new way and that is beautiful.
And this piece is gorgeous. Love her bare feet! And, of course, I love her wings…
