self portrait challenge – celebrate

Jan 23, 2008 | Life in Progress

i don’t want to get to the end of my life and find that i lived just the length of it. i want to have lived the width of it as well. – diane ackerman

(the only way to really celebrate: jumping up and down on the bed. remember jumping up and down on hotel beds when you were a kid?)

celebrating some big news today. i don’t want to give away all the details but today it became official: i’ve entered the world of licensing! what does this mean? it means (unbelievably) that i’ve signed on with a wonderful publishing company and will have cards, stationery sets, journals, magnets, and even calendars (these will come much later) in stores as early as this spring! i’ve been asking myself, “can you believe this?” these last several weeks as it’s been in motion. now that it’s official, i feel lifted by the excitement and wonder of it all. thank you, universe! i love how dreams work their way to Real.

i’ve been feeling sort of quiet in my life. been going to yoga with mati. trying to drink a ton of water. enjoying the recent rains. working a day at the hospital here and there. book stuff. business stuff. time is slipping by and i need more of it. i’d like to get some paintings offered on etsy very soon, but where does the time go? remember when you were a child and it seemed like summer lasted forever? gone are those days, for sure. speaking of summer, i’ve been daydreaming about summer and wearing more skirts and sandals. i can’t wait.

on my walk today, i found another heart: do you see it?

Sending much love,

Also for your inspiring work, I picked up my brush again and can’t wait to show the world what happened. You have truly helped me learn that what I have is not like anyone elses, and that’s ok. 🙂
