atlanta gift show, part one

Jan 10, 2010 | Entrepreneurship, Life in Progress

oh my goodness, i am home from 10 days of travel. it was a whirlwind, but so, so good. after florida we headed to atlanta for the big gift show. i’ve never been and everyone tells you it’s crazy but now i know. like, for reals. on the first day, john and i were walking from our hotel to the show when i saw a marketing photo of my collection on a GIANT column outside of the entrance. i couldn’t believe it and like a total dork, i posed in front of it. once inside, we were both blown away by how much there was to see – imagine thousands of manufactures with showrooms displaying all there new designs and products. not only did i learn so much about the gift industry, but i was completely inspired by design. it’s always been a dream of mine to have a little gift boutique and this show reawakened the possibilities of that dream. it’s just so cool to see the company showrooms behind all those favorite things you see in stores like anthropologie and more. very, very cool.

i can’t tell you how surreal this all feels. it feels exhilarating, but it also feels very much like a collective celebration. so many people, with so much talent and vision are behind every move, every design, every dream, every display, every product. i’ve said it before, but i adore my partnership with demdaco. it’s like a corporate lovebomb.
i have SO much more to say and to share. lots and lots of display photos coming up soon – i can hardly wait to show you!

Sending much love,
