A few things I want to remember from the last few weeks. Hello, LIFE.

A few things I want to remember from the last couple of weeks:

Celebrating the arrival of Autumn by marveling at the red leaves on our brand newbie trees in our front yard. I’m looking forward to watching them grow and root just as we, having moved here this year, also grow and root.

Celebrating True  turning nine! His birthday wish? To have a nice family only celebration/party with all of his favorite foods (mashed potatoes with vegan gravy, broccolini, baked beans, avocados, ritz crackers, and a vegan apple pie instead of cake). He asked for a metal detector this year, inspired by one of his fave shows, Expedition Unknown.

I want to remember asking him is top 8 things from being 8 years old (“being able to watch more of the Harry Potter movies, moving to Sisters, my grands moving to Sisters, my awesome new bedroom…”) and how we recalled the magic of his birth – and how the nurse gave him perfect Apgar scores and described him as “vigorous”, which remains true today. His vitality is mesmerizing.

I want to remember waking up almost every morning to a sunny house, which has made a HUGE difference in our family’s mental health.

Making stuff in the studio and the joy of recording Art Dates with Kelly Rae. I’ve really enjoyed experimenting with new paints and pens lately and just allowing myself to loosen up.

Dressing up for a double date with new friends to support the amazing Caldera Arts  here in our new community.

Planting a ton of succulents in the yard with dreams of them spreading like wildfire. Ordering Fall bulbs via Floret Flower before they sold out (a first for me!).

Savoring the beginnings of a new season in a new town in a new home. I’m so glad to be here, relishing this season of life as it unfolds after so many months of working toward this moment.

Sending much love,
