Am I worthy of abundance? Am I worthy enough to have a partner who does all the heavy lifting when it comes to keeping our family fed, our home clean, our kid’s lunches made? How about the sincere and grace-filled love of my child, despite my epic and inevitable parenting fails? Is my art worthy enough? Am I allowed to rest and restore this much? Am I worthy of the break?
Of course, the answer is YES, and what a vulnerable and uneasy thing to step deeper into.
Here’s what I’ve learned: Practicing the embodiment of my worthiness – fully taking up space with all of my imperfectness while still asking for (and creating) what I need – is one of the best ways I can say Thank You. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will live and love the s%&* out of this life because I am worthy of the lessons, the growth, the curveballs, the abundance, and ultimately the love.
Claiming our worthiness, then, becomes a sacred living prayer, an everyday practice of making choices that uphold our value. Yes, I will accept your help, I am worthy. Yes, I will accept your compliment, your love, your generosity. I am worthy. Yes, I will take as long as I need to take to grieve, to rest, to celebrate. I am worthy. Yes, I will give myself the gift of forgiveness. I am worthy.
Here’s to stepping even deeper into our worthiness, and the burdens it so gracefully lays down.
