another sidewalk heart found today
life feels refreshingly normal this week. no more deadlines. no more rushing around. no more very late nites. i’m catching up on sleep, on phone calls, on letter writing, on routine doctor appts, on life. i must say, it feels really wonderful. it’s been awhile since i had some space to decompress from the momentum of life and rest in the bliss of a few average days. i’ve been daydreaming about upcoming trips (ohio, portland, nyc) and seeing movies (nanny diaries = ok) and reading my book. i even wrote a love letter to my boy for our upcoming anniversary (we write letters each year instead of gifts).
best of all, i’ve completely been transformed by paying better attention (to the details of life) thanks to the new camera. what a gift. i want to document everything….my morning walks, my afternoon walks, my bike rides to work, all the hearts i see, my routine. i’m hooked. i told john that pretty soon i’m going take a photo of every single person/stranger i encounter in a 24 hour period here in oakland. he thinks it’s a nutty idea, but i think it would be fascinating to capture one day of people in this crazy city. i’m so going to do it…

It’s sounds lovely to have life slow down to something more manageable and enjoyable. It’s been a whirlwind with all your projects.
As a new camera owner I also find myself noticing details that beg to be photographed. It’s wonderful to find art everywhere.
