a birthday

May 22, 2007 | Life in Progress

john’s birthday was yesterday. i love this childhood photo of him. he is all smiles and curly hair, much like today. we had such a relaxing day of celebrating, including a hike at rodeo beach, some sea glass finding, a wonderful italian lunch outside in saulsalito. oh my. the sun was out. the weather was perfect. and we seemed to be locked in a day of time of bliss.
we had a couple of friends over in the evening for paninis, wine, and a couple of games of yatzee (our favorite). oh yes, and some cupcakes. german chocalate for john. it was a mellow day of the best kind.
i find myself glancing at him, whether at home in the kitchen, or in the grocery store or during one of our strolls. and i just feel an overwhelming flood of goodness for him. it’s not always like this, this deep connection of love, but when it comes, when we are both in tune with each other, i just can’t think of anything better.
our view from our lunch in sausalito. feet propped up. open air. gorgeous. sailboats everywhere. yummy food. heaven.

Sending much love,

Sausalito is so much fun. Have you tried the burger place yet? It’s a tiny place that makes the best burgers I’ve ever had.

I’m glad you both had a great day. Happy B-day to your hubby.
