My wish for us in 2023
Happy New Year, friends! I've been reflecting on this past year, what I'm proud of, what was hard, what I want to carry forward in 2023, and what I want to let go of. It has been a pivotal year for me, and I'm ready for a fresh start. As I move into this next...
The sweet gift of amazement from a barista
Recently, I was ordering my usual oat milk mocha at my favorite coffee shop when the young man at the counter, a barista, casually asked, "Whatcha doing today?" I shrugged my shoulders and answered, "Not much, just a little work." "Oh, cool," he said. "What do...

Original Painting Sale Coming Next Week! Hi friends, It's been a long, long while since I've released a batch of original paintings, and I'm SO EXCITED to release these babies for sale next week. If you want to be among the very first people to know when they...
On midlife, becoming, emerging
The snow came this week, falling gently and creating a soft, white, wonder. I've been waking up to its bright white invitations to create beauty, to make a cup of tea, to read, to snuggle in. I've been full of thoughts lately. So. Many. Thoughts. Much of...
On allowing younger versions of ourselves lead the way
(me, age 35) There's been a creative project that I've been resisting. It's one of those projects that looms large, my brain making up stories about it that loom even larger: You don't have time. It's too massive of a project. Why bother. For years now, the...
It was a huge success! Come be a part of it!
Omgosh, friends. Andrea and I just completed our inaugural round of our collaborative project, Idea To Done, where we help heart-centered women plan, create, and launch their online offerings. Our hearts are FULL. It was a huge success! For 8 weeks, our entire...
Join me for a Wear Your Joy challenge!
Autumn has arrived here in Sisters, Oregon, and my heart is so happy about it. Crisp air. Red leaves. Earlier sunsets. I've noticed a little shift in my perspective. A little lift in my spirits. And a little (much needed) bounce in my step. Last Autumn, we were...
Join me on a tour of our guest room
Our guest room! Who wants to come visit? In truth, I sleep in here most nights with the windows open. Bliss. 🛏 After years of not sleeping well with my love (we have different sleep schedules, etc), I discovered sleeping alone works best for me. Took me...
Breathe, soften and ask for what you need.
I painted this piece as a gentle reminder to myself for humaning: Have faith. Deepen my trust muscles will always and forever be my practice. Yes and amen. Breathe & soften. How can I soften in this moment? Toward myself. And toward others. This question...
Hello + welcome!
Hey there, I’m Kelly Rae Roberts
Before I was an artist, I was a social worker. And then at the age of 30, I started playing with paint, and everything about my life changed. Today I’m passionate about making meaningful art while helping other women explore their creativity, nourish their souls, and build thriving creative businesses.
I live in a tiny town named Sisters, Oregon with my husband John, our son True, and our two English Bulldogs, Lulu Butter Butterbean and Amelia Apple Bottoms. I deeply believe that anything is possible, one small and brave step at a time.
