Dream Come True: Stationery Line!

Mar 28, 2018 | Entrepreneurship, Life in Progress

Friends! Here’s a behind the scenes look at how my card collection came together while I was visiting the Leanin Tree headquarters in Boulder, CO!

I headed to Denver to start planning out a large and new and exciting stationery line! It debuts in Jan 2019 via Leanin Tree. I’ve always wanted an extensive card collection and the dream is HAPPENING! Hello matching art with meaningful words. Totally my dream.

We went through about 300 pieces of my art and very thoughtfully – over the course of many hours – decided which pieces would be a good fit for various occasions. I am most excited about the cards that lend themselves to the life occasions that are more serious in nature: illness, grief, hope + healing. It feels like a perfect marriage of my previous Social Work career (once a social worker, always a social worker) and my art. I’m a THRILLED.

Of course, I’m also excited about the cards that will speak to celebrations (thank you, bdays, appreciations).

Brave in sadness, brave in love, yes? I want my cards to speak to the full breadth of our human experience.

I was blown away by the Leanin Tree team, their collaborative style, their enthusiasm, and their willingness to put cards in the market that are not your typical cards when it comes to what they say and how they’re written. I am also so happy with their willingness to take a stand and make a statement with this collection, giving it an awesome launch in January 2019.

You know what is also really cool? They make all the cards in a zero-waste factory in Boulder, CO on recycled paper with soy inks. I was able to tour the factory while I was there and I had a big sense of pride about how these cards will be made. Made me happy.

I’ve been doing this licensing thing for almost 10 years of the 13 that I’ve been a working artist and I’ve had the good fortune of partnering with companies that have high, high integrity. It makes SUCH a difference to work with people that you’d have dinner with and invite over to hang with your family.

TREMENDOUS gratitude.

Sending much love,

Leanin Tree has found the perfect artist for their company because you exude love and compassion in every single piece of your art work. You are such an inspiration to all of us and I know your spirit will be in every card or piece of stationery LT produces of yours. Anyone who receives one of your cards will be a lucky person indeed! I, for one, will support your line 1000%!. You GO Girl! Hugs from Florida!!
