some of my favorite memories from childhood are those that involve spending time with my nana and granddad. we lived with them for awhile and when we weren’t living with them, we were with them after school, on weekends. they were in my everyday life for what felt like many years. i remember them with their arms opened wide, their lives revolving around us kids. i remember feeling deeply loved in their presence – as if my walking into the room lit them up, made them happy. my other grandma lived far away but she’d spoil us rotten during our visits with chocolate, treats, and big giant hugs.

grandparents are so dear and special to their grandchildren.

and so, it is with the happiest space in my heart that i can announce that my parents, true’s grandparents, are moving to portland in just a few months. they’ll be settled in well before his first birthday. we are over the moon. it’s a big move all the way from florida, but a long time dream in the making that is finally coming true for them. we are so happy. and i love that true will have his grands nearby to spoil him with love and attention and chocolate and adventures. he is one lucky soul.
