John turned 46 years young last month. To celebrate, we snuggled into a little cabin along the gorgeous Metolius River. We ate, wandered along the river, listened to music (Bob Dylan mostly), watched movies (Have you seen the Beastie Boys documentary? So good.), and slept in.
Forty Six. I’ll be forty five on the summer solstice! Sometimes I can feel the intense density of being a human and other times I feel light as air. I have watched John travel those same strange sensations for over 20 years now, and I consider myself lucky to have the privilege of witnessing his unfolding and becoming. He has always been my biggest cheerleader and support.
The last couple of years have been pivotal in his journey, especially this year when he nervously (and excitedly!) said yes to a longtime dream. His unfurling has been deep and wide as he does the inner and the outer work to make the dream real. I can’t wait to see what emerges.
Here’s to all the celebrations of making it another year on this human realm. It’s a true, true wonder.
