illustration friday – soar

Dec 28, 2007 | My Creative Practice

“The journey between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place. ” (Barbara DeAngelis)
(large canvas, wings inspired by misty)

it reads:
she
was
on
a
journey
back
to
her
wings

thank you, illustration friday for the reminder to soar. i woke up today feeling a little messy with overthinking. now, i’m off to a lunchdate with a dear friend, then some street wanderings with hot tea in hand. oh yes, and a better ‘tude.

Sending much love,

I’m stunned. As I’m trying to end a relationship with my 7th grade crush, now a widow, that started with my sending him the de Angelis quote, I’d searched it out again. Wishing to help him understand why the the space we’re in while he’s “trying to figure life out” isn’t working – because it isn’t living – for me, I’d tripped upon your blog. Which is ironic – or fated – as Id purchased two of your prints just a week ago. Thought you’d appreciate how comforted I am by today’s work. And not to be crass – but I desperately need to purchase a copy of her – to stay strong. As an aside – part of my purchase of your pieces last week was intertwined with your past. I am a child & adolescent psychiatrist . We’d have loved working together!

Very nice style. I like the smoothness of the face against the rough texture of the background.
