inspired.

i am SO excited to announce that i’m heading to donna downey’s (is that not the best name ever?) inspired event next year in north carolina. i’m attending as her special guest and keynote speaker – totally excited about not only meeting the one and only donna but also attending a few of the workshops, selling my goods, and soaking in the energy of this retreat. from the moment i discovered her blog, i knew this woman was someone i wanted to meet – i love her enthusiasm, her passion for the creative life and her encouragement to all of us to live out our creative expression. kindred souls, i can feel it. and i’m totally loving her campaign for creativity that she launched recently. have you seen it? how cool is that? if you’re interested in attending inspired (i believe there are a few spots left), then head on over here for all the registration information 🙂

in other news, i am feeling SO much better in heart and spirit as i really focus on slowing down and giving myself the gift of a bit of gentle nurturing. i’ve been going to bed by 10:30pm, waking up a bit earlier, heading out for tea dates with my dog, a little bit of shopping, reading time, and more. seriously, people. rest is working. and spending the week with john who is reminding me in every spare moment how love heals. these weeks have been hard on us but i’m being reminded that when we’re together and in the same space, we are very good at lifting one another up.

Sending much love,

You and Donna Downey are two of the most awesome creative women that I’ve happily found after I accidently (although there really aren’t any accidents are there?) stumbled into the blogospere. You are both so down-to-earth and unpretentious and I want so badly to meet both of you and thinking of creative ways to come up with the money while there are still spots available. If not, then I’m sure you’ll both be together again somewhere and I will have stashed enough money away by then. Have a safe and awesome time in Italy.

i wanted to go to last year’s ‘inspired’ but my littlest one was still too little. you being part of it was the extra little push i needed to go to my hubby and say “i want to go to this…..by myself” and yea! now i’m registered! i cannot wait!

    Kelly,
I love your art, it just lifts my spirit when I look at it.

We all need to remember from time to time that Life is a Journey. We need to take care of ourselves first, so we can take care of the ones we love. That includes our Mind, Body, and Soul.

You see it took me almost 40 years to realize this for myself after raising my two sons, and 25 years of marriage to my Best Friend. I just recently relized I can make my own art even though I can’t draw a lick. My soul just doesn’t feel calm if I haven’t created something.

So please listen from someone who spent her first 40 years not taking care of herself at all. Mind, Body, and most of all my Soul.

Your a beautiful, talented, young artist and you must remember that Life is a Journey and you will go through many different travels, but it will be easier if you take care yourself. Hugs Your Art is The Greatest!!!
