Today mom turned 68 and we took her out to celebrate. When I asked True what his birthday wish was for her, he said “that she grows up to be an old lady.” And so it is. Mom, may you grow up to be a very old lady. That is our wish.

Sad news. Louie will not be coming home to us after all. He’s the baby of the bunch and has had some complications that require some pretty heavy monitoring. The good news is that he will be okay and will be staying with his mama bulldog and his original family. They are all super attached and this is what is best for Louie. They have decided to keep his name and have promised to keep us updated. We also offered to dog sit anytime so hopefully this won’t be the last time we see him. Total bummer but also super trusting the divine order of things.

Current scene: True taking a bath in our bath with Lulu patiently waiting. Suitcase on the bed as I’ve started packing for our family vacation. Leaving in two day. Hawaii bound.

You guys. I have found GOLD. And by gold, I mean asana.com. One of my goals for 2017 is to get my life super simplified. Like many women, I carry everything in my head. Schedules. Dreams. Lists. Tasks. Employee stuff. Biz stuff. Kid stuff. LIFE. I have done my best to keep track of it all via my trusty day planner, tedious notes, journals, and all sorts of apps like Gmail, Dropbox, Evernote, Googledocs, secret Pinterest Boards, etc. WHO’S WITH ME? Maddening. But the detailed, linear part of my brain (and my type A that loves to come out sometimes) has never been satisfied and it’s drives me bonkers to not have everything in one place, especially when trying to manage all sort of old and new projects, people, and ideas. Enter Asana, mainly Asana BOARDS. Last year I used my extra time during Winter Break to create photo books for ten years worth of digital images that had never been printed. This year I used my extra time to create Asana Boards for every single biz project I manage, dream I have, art I wanna make, and so much more. And because you can attach DB files, images, subtasks, labels, tags, team members, and so much more, I finally feel complete. I’ve been using it for a little over two weeks and so far, I’m in love. Highly recommended especially if you’re visual like me and want to create boards that you can click and drag around. This isn’t an ad. I just love sharing stuff. What is your favorite management tool? How do you keep it all straight?

At the studio today with Nichole and Lulu. First day of work in 2017! There will be lots of renewal in KRR biz land this year. Never before have I felt such clarity about biz direction and how to align it with what I’m seeking personally. More thoughts on the blog soon! For now, frog butt for you guys!

Selfie in the studio this morning. Been working hard to get everything wrapped up before leaving tomorrow for family vacation. Today it’s more filming for upcoming episodes of Kelly Rae Unscripted as well as a big ol’ meeting with Nichole and a couple friend visits squeezed in too. Let’s do this, Tuesday.

Yesterday I was gifted the best earrings EVER by my one of my dearest friends who is also my favorite earring angel, @lynzeelynx. How amazing are these beauties? Art for the lobes. Love for the lobes.

Annnnnd we made it. Friends, I am so ready. So ready to soak up some sun. Here’s to days and days of my favorite pastime, which is watching this child of mine be brave and delight to the fullest expression possible. We’ve been here just a few short hours and he’s already stretched his “courage muscles” by doing a tunnel slide (he has a long held fear/struggle with enclosed dark spaces). He was so thrilled to conquer it and I’m so thrilled to have captured this memory. Annnd we’re off!

    Hi Kelly,
I just wanted you to know that I registered for your Spirit Wings Ecourse yesterday. This is the first time I have read your blog and I love it. My heart feels so incredibly joyful to begin the new year with you in my life. I am deeply touched by the sharing of your life….you are so real and beautiful in every aspect. I absolutely loved your photos. I know that I will be learning so much from your ecourse. Since I struggle with tech stuff I shy away from instagram, facebook, blogging etc.. but this year I will look forward to learning how to be more connected via your ecourse, reading your blog and asking my husband to help me set up my own blog! Kelly Rae….you are so awesome, so inspiring and I am ever so grateful for you! I love you! Diana
