KRR 10th anniversary party

You guys!!! I had a 10th creative biz anniversary party! And it was so full of love and joy and people who have helped me make this art biz a reality. So many dear people came from around the country and many more right here in Portland and my family too. Overwhelming in all the best ways.

I am not a party person. I don’t usually throw them and I’m such a sensitive introvert, that I don’t actually attend many parties either. But Nichole and Betsy really challenged me to actually do this for my ten year celebration – to really take a minute and do something super celebratory – and I’m SO GLAD I did.

The best part was bringing together the people who have helped make this dream and business actually happen, from friends to family to all sorts of creative folks who help me (photographers, videographers, designers, etc) and many more big hearted folks. What a day………

KRR 10th anniversary transformation

One of the things we did was transform the hallways outside of my studios into party zones with furniture and decor and a few stations including a photo booth, an interactive dream catcher, a big canvas for folks to paint, and so much more. Huge thanks to Rachel who did all the event coordinating! LOVE HER!

KRR love bombers

We also flowed in and out of the studio, too. These ladies (Mati, Myriam, Ali) spent the weekend with me and helped celebrate, honor, and reflect back to me so much of the journey these last ten years. They’ve traveled with me most of those years and we’ve all witnessed one another’s journeys in love, art, life. It was SUCH a treat to have them here this weekend. This is us in the studio just before things got started with the party. Afterward, we slumber partied at my home for the weekend. Such bliss.

KRR 10th anniversary family

John and True were soooo sweet. John gave the most heart warming toast that made me love him even more (is that possible?) about the early years of our deciding I should go for it despite he being in graduate school without an income. We all need these angels in our lives who encourage us to dream big and live the lives we are meant for. He is the biggest angel of all. True, too.

KRR 10th anniversary spread

One of the fun thing we did for the party was to show painting time lapses on the wall above the food. Super fun detail that made me really ?.

KRR 10th anniversary collaborative painting

One of my favorite things about the party was the canvas we set up that guests added to over the course of a couple of hours. By the end of the party, a gorgeous collaborative canvas emerged that held all the love and energy of those who were there. I will treasure this always. ??❤️

KRR 10th anniversary photo booth

KRR 10th anniversary amy photobooth

Perhaps the most fun thing we did was have a photo booth. Omg. I can’t even. Ao fun. Here I am with Amy who made the most GORGEOUS dream catcher for guests to add ribbons to (see below).

KRR 10th anniversary crown

My girlfriend Leigh Standley MADE ME A CROWN to wear during the party! Note the “10” in her neck and the paint brush and the feather wings and ribbon detail. I freaked when I saw this gorgeous thing and I wore it for the entire day. ??❤️ I felt so loved up!

KRR 10th anniversary ballsy

Speaking of Leigh, here she is toasting me. She may or may not have toasted to my balls and being balsy. So fun and funny. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt so loved by my friends!

KRR 10th anniversary dream catcher
One of my favorite things from the party was this gorgeous interactive dream catcher. On the left is what it looked like at the start of the party. The lovely Amy made it using a hula hoop and ribbon! And THEN everyone at the celebration grabbed a ribbon, made a wish, and then tied it onto the dream catcher. The result? The finished one on the right is now hanging in my living room. What????? It could not be more gorgeous and filled with love. Wow. Wow. Wow.

KRR 10th anniversary group

Hands down the best part of the shindig was bringing together all the friends, family, and people who make it all happen (Accountant! Biz attorney! Biz mgr! Bookkeeper! Videographers! Photographers! Parents! And so much more). These gals were the ones who stayed until the very very end and this was the last shot we got before going home. These women are part of the heartbeat of my tribe that nourish, inspire, support, lift up, and love me through the ups and downs of it all. My heart is full.

(Mati toasting me :)))

One of the things I realized this past weekend was that we’re all working so hard, loving so hard, building our lives and yet we’re not taking time to stop for a minute and celebrate. I am so so glad we celebrated. And here’s to another 10 years of chasing dreams….

So very happy for you Kelly Rae!!
I also had a party for my 10 years of Releasing the Creative Powers Within. It’s good to celebrate good things whenever we can. (Though I totally get the introvert hide in a corner thing). Here’s to many more!
