(i took this photo during my recent travels. the little birdies look like a bunch of dreams taking flight. i just love the imagery…and wanted to share.)
so, the mondo beyono-ers (teachers + students) have so inspired me to DREAM BIGGER, to be more specific, and to re-do my list. this one feels much better, much more mondo. i feel funny putting it out here – it’s that grand, that vulnerable – but i want to stay true. so here it is:
*start a family as soon as possible
*to feel fantastic during pregnancy and to deliver a healthy baby
*to collaborate with singer/songwriters that i admire on writing lyrics (deb talan, mason jennings, brandi carlile, be good tanyas, patty griffin, indigo girls – to name a few)
*move back to portland into an old restored 3 bedroom bungalow (small and cozy) that has a basement and large artist studio/cottage in the back yard.
*earn enough money by next summer to put down a large deposit toward dream home and to pay off john’s student loans entirely
*to be a momma that integrates creativity into family life – good balance and self care along the way
*support john and all of his dreams – continue to love one another well.
*have one very heartfelt and meaningful conversation with oprah winfrey
*work with anthropologie in some way and for it to be really cool
*make huge giant art
*write another creativity book – a follow up to Taking Flight
*write a book about being brave in sadness, brave in love and for it to be wildly successful
*create and teach e-courses on painting, and creative flight – beginning next spring
*go to france again, stay longer, learn french
*ditto for italy
*get in the best shape of my life through yoga
*to accept/trust all the abundance while not waiting for the shoe to drop
*to travel with my friends, including an international trip with jen and the lovebombers
*to paint collaboratively with new friend jennifer mercedes
*make dreams come true for others – set up a website, grassroots organization to make this happen
*investigate my birth story and youth – get/find answers, recover memories, heal
*have fun with romance, get silly, more fun!
*invest wisely and for it to pay off so that we can financially help our families
*for my parents to live bi-coastal
*to expand my licensing gigs and for this venture to continue to do well, especially with demdaco
*write more articles for more magazines (oprah!)
*to have our home featured in a premier decor magazine
*learn how to make gorgeous videos of art in progress (beginning to end)
*inspire my friends, and family – not hold back and to strengthen a few friendships that have slipped. be honest, vulnerable
*more public speaking (i really love this!)
*step more into my leadership capacity – facilitate more
*for inspiration to keep its grip on my life and for the dreams to continue
*to keep making a living at what i do – the best and i hope it never ends.

Hi, I'm Kelly Rae Roberts!

Before I picked up my first paintbrush at the age of 30, I was a medical social worker. I followed my whispers and started playing with paint and everything changed.

Now I’m a full-time artist, author and Possibilitarian, who helps women explore and nourish their creative souls.
