New House Update!

Mar 23, 2019 | Kelly Rae Builds A House

As I write this, the snow is coming down yet the sun is out. It’s gorgeous AND I can’t wait for Spring to arrive.

I thought I’d give you a house update!

Things are happening! We have walls. We have shiplap. We have hardwoods. And we have this tile (in the laundry/mudroom) that I’ve been coveting for months. Isn’t it sweet? It has a Swedish/Scandinavian vibe that delights me.

I’m loving the process of designing the foundation of this new house with wood/grey/white tones and textures (as well as a bit of colorful tile in other rooms) before all the colorful decorations (wallpaper, lighting, rugs, etc) begin.

I have really missed my belongings, you guys. I cannot wait to get into this house and start decorating my joy with vintage pieces and rugs and curtains and all the colorful things that I’ve missed. Especially my studio!!!

(Board and batten going up in the master bed)

Meanwhile, my creativity is getting quenched through the house stuff as well as through wearing my joy.

Looks like we’ll be moving in next month! Almost there, almost there!

PS: The grey paint is Stonington Gray by Bengamin Moore. And the floor tile is tile is a Bedrosian tile and it’s called Enchante Moderno.

Sending much love,

I just happened upon the magazine story about your charming home, and I was wondering if you recalled the name of the pale green-and-white tile in your bathroom?
    Thank you!
