i absolutely love Sundays. and new years day is my favorite holiday of the year. so, this year is so perfect with new years being on a sunday! very exciting for me. i love the idea of new beginnings. it makes me feel hopeful, ready to improve, to acknowledge what’s working in my life & to change what’s not. my goals for the new year are usually focused around maintaining balance and simplicity in my life. and the same is true this year. i think i’ll try to work out some sort or routine for cooking, working out, art making. i seem to feel better, and get more accomplished when i have some sort of structure and routine. and i want more art in my life. creating it, learning about it. and i’m going to start my gratitude journal again. i had one for years, then stopped somewhere around age 26. i think it’s time again. i miss the perspective it gave me on each new day, paying attention to the smallest details that i could find thanks in. my sister has a business called “sacred cake…finding the sacred in the ordinary.” Love it.
