Oh Goodness

Aug 1, 2018 | Kelly Rae Moves To Sisters, Life in Progress

Oh goodness. This is me. Letting our belongings go. Embracing change. Embracing new beginnings. Trusting that we’ll land right where we’re supposed to be. Trusting the mess during the fall. Being sensitive to all this means for True, and my parents, and us, including the hard parts.

The sweetest family bought our beloved long blue couch, our lovely daybed we’ve had for years, and more. Friends are taking chairs and plants and poufs and dishes. And many Insta friends took jewelry, pillows, vintage collections, and more yesterday.

I am overwhelmed by the work. AND I am grateful for the joy and trust this journey has already inspired.

Sending much love,

My MIL passed away in May, I’ve soent all summer going through her hoards of “things” and throwing away and cleaning things up. She had bedrooms full of stuff. I couldn’t open some of the doors to the bedrooms for the “stuff”. I don’t wish that on anyone and now that I’m finished at her house, I’m ready to purge mine, again. We downsized 3 years ago from a working farm with a shop, barn, oversized 3 car garage, basement and 4700 sq ft home to a 2700 sq ft with a simple 2 car garage. I purged a lot of things then, but I realize I held onto stuff, just in case someone, (I have 4 grown boys) might could use it. It’s been in storage and boxes for 3 years. It’s time to part with it. So when this Texas weather gets cooler that’s what I plan to do, get rid of it. Don’t want my kids to have to do what I’ve spent my summer doing at my mother in law’s home.
Good for you guys for realizing that things are just things.
