a sunday morning….

Jul 21, 2008 | Life in Progress

(i didn’t snap any shots inside the church, but if found this one via flickr. i think it captures a bit of the enthusiasm)

yesterday morning i went to glide – a church like none other. it was truly an extraordinary celebration of spirit. it’s a spirituality of inclusiveness. hope. social justice. and reaching for the most raw and personal pieces of our divinity. sitting in the pew, side by side with a couple of dear friends, i felt completely aware of an inner transformation rising inside. in those moments, i was exactly where i needed to be: standing up in song and exuberant celebration, singing along with an incredibly high-spirited choir, and letting all that hope and goodness seep into my bones. there were small meaningful tears, movement inside my heart, a tenderness shifting. what a remarkable morning. what a remarkable place. i will surely return.

from there, we headed over to a gathering of women for a sunday brunch. there was so much energy and happiness in the room, that my hands were literally shaking, unable to contain all the joy received on this day. i felt completely blissed out to be in the company of these women and totally aware of how full my life feels – very, very plump with friends that allow one another to be as big as our spirit allows. there’s no containing of talent, downplaying of joy or heartache. just honest, be-who-you-are-fully and all is well. i am one blessed, lucky girl. i didn’t have a chance to snap everyone’s photos, but here are a few shots on my flickr page of the love.

thank you again for keeping me in your thoughts…the search for answers continues and i’ll keep you posted 🙂

Sending much love,

hello I just found your blog and love your angels. They are so wonderful. Glad to hear that your mri turned out okay, medical stuff is sometimes scary. I myself when I had my first mamogram a couple of years ago opened up a can of worms but things are okay and its always better to be on top of things.

Hi :o) I will definitely have to visit Glide the next time I’m in San Fran. I have put it on my definite to-do list. I think my boyfriend would enjoy going with me, too. I read your post about our medical tests a few days back, and since then I’ve said prayers for you while I’m in bed before falling asleep. I love your smiley positive attitude and openness. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I hope your Wednesday is wonderful.

    glide is a great church…
i so wish more churches were like that, open and loving instead of closed off and conservative.
