Sunshine in her Soul (in art + in life), plus a time-lapse.

(New piece! Available here.)

I painted this new piece  a few weeks before we left for Hawaii. I must have been unconsciously dreaming of flowers and sunshine as that’s exactly what happened when we arrived here.

True has a five week Winter Break from school (I know!), so we decided to hop over to Hawaii for a week of sunshine. I’m so glad we did. It’s been sunshine for days, chill vibes for days, early bed times, reading, eating, lounging, swimming, giggles.

We decided to try out the Disney Resort here, and we’ve all loved it. Water slides, really good food, awesome beach, and all the perks for kids (big and small). Back home it’s snowing, the city has shut down, schools have been closed. My heart is grateful for this break. Indeed, I have flowers in my hair, and sunshine in my soul.

Thank you, vacation. You. Are. Awesome.

For those of you interested, below is a quick time-lapse that shows the above painting in progress. Enjoy it!

    Hi KellyRae,
I discovered your work in a gift shop and I was hooked. I have taken part one of painting a mantra course. At first I was mad because I wanted to paint not think! Once I got over this I really enjoyed the process . Thank-you. Since its January in Ohio I am overjoyed to be indoors and ready to take part 2. Thanks. It is not only fun but educational!

Hi Kelly Rae…I joined your class “Spirit Wings” and I enjoy watching the videos over and over. You sent me an email asking me to post my work. I don’t know how to do that, but I wanted you to know that I’ve made several angels, and given one away to my sister-in-law for Christmas. I do love them and if I might say, I don’t think they are half bad!!! Just wanted you to know how much I’ve enjoyed the class!!!!!! Jennifer

I cannot begin to express the gratitude and warmth I feel towards you and what you do. You are beautiful and it seems that everything you touch becomes just as beautiful. I am a 21 yr old woman. I have just completed my 3 Year degree specializing in Interior Design. Ever since I was a little girl Art has been the beat of my heart, but when I decided to do the ‘smart’ thing and pursue a slightly more technical creative career, it’s as if a piece of me withered away. I no longer had time or energy to make art, and the so called creative work I was pouring my hours into did nothing but drain my soul. It was this past year I began to question whether this was the right career for me. I knew I wanted..no NEEDED to make art. It was my greatest talent, my most precious gift and I had put it on the shelf to collect dust. The ‘whispers’ as you would say, began to call. I came across one of your books at a friends house, she lent it to me and as I read it, it was as if those whispers became shouts. I have now launched my own creative blog and I am in the beginning stages of experimenting with what inspires me and what I know I have always been born to do. Never stop what you do. You touch lives.
