Kelly Rae Roberts End of an Era celebration and clearing

Dear friends,

I’ve been creating products from my art for almost 20 years. Through licensing my work, I’ve had the incredible privilege of creating major gift, stationery, and home decor collections, with thousands of products sold in boutiques around the world. Later, I built my own little self-published product world: greeting cards, stickers, prints, calendars, and more.

And I’ve loved it.

There is something incredibly joyful about seeing a painting become a card that someone sends to a friend, or a sticker that ends up on a water bottle, or a print that hangs in someone’s home. My art has traveled out into the world in ways I never could have imagined when I first picked up a paintbrush at 30 years old.

Along the way, I’ve also had my fingers simultaneously in many other creative pursuits: hosting retreats, writing, wholesale, creating e-courses, mentoring, a retail shop, and more. Holy smokes!

But lately, I’ve been feeling the pull toward something simpler. More centered on the art itself, and less driven by what the art can become commercially.

Maybe it’s turning 51 and having a pivotal and clarifying year. Maybe it’s just that beautiful thing that happens as we get older, when we start getting clearer about what we want to carry forward and what we’re ready to put down, freeing and unburdening ourselves one step at a time.

Either way, I’ve learned over the years to pay deep attention to the whispers that nudge and pull on our sleeves, guiding us toward new edges and horizons.

And so, I’ve made a big decision…..

I’m dramatically simplifying my art shop. Most of my current greeting cards and stickers will be retiring, along with about half of my prints you’ve known over the years.

What remains will be a much smaller, more intentional curated collection. Original paintings and beautiful fine art prints will be at the center (including canvas reproduction prints!), alongside a very small handful of favorite cards and stickers.

I hope you’ll help me celebrate this clearing by scooping up any stickers and cards you’ve loved before they’re gone. And if there’s a print you’ve had your eye on, now would be a good time to grab it, too. You can find them all in the shop right now.

I feel enormously grateful for every single person who has bought a card, stuck one of my stickers somewhere meaningful, framed a print, given one of my products as a gift, or carried my art and words into their lives over these last two decades.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

On a personal note, there’s something surprisingly tender about the end of an era. I think sometimes we imagine we’re only supposed to walk away from things that aren’t working anymore. But I’m learning that a beautiful chapter can simply be complete. We can love what something gave us and still be ready for what’s next. We can be grateful for who we’ve been while making space for who we’re becoming.

I think it’s essential, really, to honor these beginnings and endings, and all the small refinements and shifts that happen along the way.

For those of you who are in a completion cycle of your own, I’m right there with you.

Very important: The shop isn’t going away. It’s simply becoming simpler and more art-focused. If you want to stock up on goodies, now is your chance before the shop gets a drastic makeover. Have fun shopping!

And I’m not going anywhere, either. I’m still hosting art retreats (I’d love love love to travel with you!) and my e-courses aren’t going anywhere. And of course, I’ll be painting, always.

I hope you’ll stay with me as I discover what comes next. I’m excited to see what emerges.

Sending much love,
