True Lately, 2.5 years old

Jun 18, 2013 | Being A Mama, Life in Progress

"Look mama! I found a heart rock!" #lovethiskid #trueelioorlando

His bowl cut kills me, in all the best ways. His gentle presence feels like the best gift I’ve ever been given. “Mama, a heart rock! A heart rock!” Oh man, he’s a keeper.

#oregoncoast has my heart. Beautiful here!
He and John have a sweet relationship. I love watching Papa John teach and show him everything. An intuitive/medium told me a little over a year ago that True and John had travelled many times together, that True has a strong connection to John’s side of the family. She said he was quite persistent in joining him for this lifetime, that it would be their best. I think of that often. They do seem to have travelled together before. Really sweet. Really easy.

Found him just like this yesterday afternoon after grabbing a new book from out #freelittlelibrary in the front yard. This kid is so my son. Being his mama has been a privilege of a lifetime. #alonetime #sunseeker

So this happened today. Life with a toddler is proving to take me back. All the way back. When I asked him what we should call him, he paused for a moment and then declared "Kenny the fish." And so it is, and begins.
It's a cloudy day over here but our little superhero is all flight and imagination. #trueelioorlando

Live this silly boy. #trueelioorlando

Love it when John sends me photos like these. Hello life!

Something has happened in the last week. The shift from quiet to wild is in progress! That, and hello big boy!

Whenever I ask him to “pose for a picture”, this is what he does. Hands on his tummy, looking adorable. Toddlers are like the sweetest, cutest, funniest little creatures. Love.

View from our yard! Do you see the artichokes growing?Whoa. On our way to the market. Happy Saturday everyone!

It’s not always easy or simple or fun, but it’s a privilege to be his mom. I adore him, our sweet little family, and all the adventures we’re on. There is something about being a mom that is a continuous practice in keeping my heart open and vulnerable. Sometimes I think my heart is going to explode with all the sweetness and it’s a practice to keep it there, on the edge of explosion vs retreating back. I hope it never ends.

Sending much love,

My heart feels warm, reading about True every time I come visit here :). He is truly, special. Melts my heart. Wonder what True would say if I asked him, how to spend a day with a dinosaur??. I love reading about the spiritual journey they'd together, I believe in this :). Blessings.

I love the way you see him. The way you reflect upon him, explore him. I was young when I had my son. I missed out on the little things. The things that take a seasoned soul to notice. I notice those things now. I notice the man that he has become. I appreciate him for all the things that he has taught me. I am a better person because of him.

Also, I don't know when we grow out of being a superhero. I think we should keep our capes forever as we are always someone's superhero!

    Thanks for posting this. X

There is something about sons….such deep feelings for mothers and sons! True reminds me so much of my son Michael when he was that age….he's now 26 and just married a perfect bride. Goodness, it only seems like yesterday that he and I were taking day trips to the orchards, spending our summer days at the pool and walking to the snow cone stand in the afternoons!

True is so precious and it's such a joy to watch him grow! He is a very old soul for sure! My family often sit and watch the videos of him singing and it brings us so much joy! He is certainly a treasure!

I'm certain you will realize what I have about my now adult child, that True was born to teach you way more than you will ever teach him…. they are such a gift.

Thanks for sharing your adorable True with us….he continues to bring joy daily!

    Hugs Giggles
