(That’s me in NYC in full Gudrun clothes!!!!)
Since arriving home from my trip to NYC where I delighted in trying on alllllll the cute clothes at the Gudrun store (my fave place to shop online), I’ve been reminded by HOW important it is to WEAR OUR JOY!
Everyday. Even when we have no plans to leave the house. Even when we’re chaperoning a field trip with kids all day. Even when we’re just running errands.
I’ve said it so many times, and I’ll keep saying it. Creating a practice of wearing our joy is 10% about the clothes and 90% about fundamentally changing the way we look at getting dressed as an opportunity EVERY SINGLE MORNING to be kind to ourselves. It’s about creating a sacred morning ritual that helps to heal feelings of inadequacy while giving ourselves daily doses of self-love that inevitably reflect back to us our self-worth/
It’s about a conscious reclamation of our joy.
It’s also about making everyday choices toward trusting our voices, allowing ourselves to be seen, and making our hearts visible – and wearable.
Are you with me?
Upping my personal practice:
SO, with all of that said, I’ve been upping my own personal Wear Your Joy™ practice over here by putting together outfits each evening before I go to bed.
The result? Not only are my mornings much more of a breeze without having to answer the “What am I going to wear?” question, but there is a slower pace of grace when I’m getting dressed, which feels way more calming and THAT is what I crave.
I’m also LOVING the creative process of putting together my outfits and hanging them up in a little cute corner of my bathroom. It feels DELIGHTFUL. And I’ve learned to follow those trails of delight. They just always lead the way home.
