Boundaries are my self-care. Saying no is my self-care. Creativity is my self-care. And more…

Apr 12, 2019 | Life in Progress

Hi, friends! Many of you know I’m a self-care enthusiast. I think boundaries are self-care. Saying no is self-care. Sometimes saying yes is self-care. Creativity is self-care. Cultivating quiet, asking for what we need, embracing our stories and vulnerabilities, food and movement, and so much more. All self-care.

Lately, I’ve been struggling on the food and movement front but I’ve been upping my self-care game in other ways, and that’s ok. Embracing quiet and the stillness that comes with adjusting to life in a tiny town has been super soul nourishing. The evenings are SO QUIET. The neighborhoods are filled with sounds of birds and wind, with deer and wild turkeys just hanging around. The stars are incredible, the sky wide open and black with silence.

There are invitations everywhere in this new life to pause and embrace the stillness. It’s a new way of living for me having lived in a bustling city for most of my life.

So far I’m loving the dialed down volume of stimulation and noise. I’m loving the exhale, the peace, and the newness of a fresh start.

I know I’ll refresh my focus soon on food and movement. AND I’m giving myself all kinds of permission to be kind to myself as we navigate all of this.

We’re almost there – I can see the finish line as our build is coming to a close this month.

Tell me how you’re nourishing your soul lately. A good book (tell us!). Creativity? Gardening? Boundaries? Saying yes and/or no? Food? Movement? Time alone?

PS: For those of you who want to walk with me each month on the path to deeper self-care, I’d love to see you over in The Self-Care Sanctuary. This month we’re diving deep into the idea that we can still honor our responsibilities as mothers, healers, creators, employees, etc AND still honor our self-care.

You have access to the entire month whenever you sign up. How great is that?

XOXOOXO!

Sending much love,

I’m writing again. Drinking WAY more water and being patient with the little, technical road blocks that keep coming up. Allowing art to be my sanctuary and writing to be my focus for my creative work.

Would you consider doing a adult coloring book?
