From social worker to artist: my story.

Permission Granted to Embrace A New Beginning When I was in my late 20’s, I picked up a paintbrush for the first time with zero training and started to play. I was a medical social worker at the time, but I had long admired painters, and well, I thought...

Gasp! Patchwork Wallpaper Wall For The Win!

Would you do a patchwork wallpaper wall in your house? It’s been five months since we moved out of our home. I miss this wall. It was such a love project, carefully choosing vintage wallpapers (found on various internet sites – mainly Etsy), cutting them...

On Freedom, Belonging To Ourselves, and a new year

I’m going for Freedom this year. For spaciousness. For an abundance of wide open moments where spontaneity can slip in, where time feels like a sweet luxury worth luxuriating in. Less hustle. More alignment. Less doing. More being. More moments that aren’t...

Dear friends, We are set to move in the Spring. Whole new town. Whole new life. As I continue to let go of the markings of my current life (house, belongings etc), I’m fiercely holding a vision of what I’d like our new life to hold. I am dreaming of a...

Love Notes

I’ve been practicing the art of sending cards. I’ve forgotten how lovely it is to sip on a cup of tea while writing a note in just the right card for someone I love. And so, I did something I’ve never done before: I bought a boatload of cards for all...

Hello + welcome!

Hey there, I’m Kelly Rae Roberts

Before I was an artist, I was a social worker. And then at the age of 30, I started playing with paint, and everything about my life changed. Today I'm passionate about making meaningful art while helping other women explore their creativity, nourish their souls, and build thriving creative businesses.

I live in a tiny town named Sisters, Oregon with my husband John, our son True, and our two English Bulldogs, Lulu Butter Butterbean and Amelia Apple Bottoms. I deeply believe that anything is possible, one small and brave step at a time.
