Making a big move in my creative life!

Nov 10, 2020 | My Creative Practice

I’ve been thinking a lot about my personal creative practice, the times of flow and the times of drought.  No matter the season of life I’m in, from newbie artist to seasoned art entrepreneur, one sacred truth always remains: When I create, I’m at peace. I feel brave. I feel healing on all levels. I feel connected with Spirit, and to my own light.  From that place, so much is born. Joy! Abundance! Community! Purpose!

I’ve been asking my heart what it wants.

Lately, I’ve been dragging a little bit, which, as hard as that can be, is always good information, a cue to ask my heart what it’s longing for.

The answer? Something that resembles a sort of Art Sabbatical. A time where I can make art that isn’t for any other reason but for my own process, where nobody is watching and it’s for me alone. Where I can wander and experiment and PLAY and make stuff from a place of curiosity and experimentation and see what unfolds and comes out of me.

The other thing my creative heart wants? Guidance. It wants to be a student again.

Enter my art friend and colleague and all around amazing human, Annamieka.

I’ve known Annamieka for years. I adore her. Recently, I interviewed her for Art Dates. As I listened to her talk about her upcoming program called Let’s Go Deep, which I’ve heard such amazing things about,  my heart leaned in and whispered, “This is what you’ve been wanting! Sign up, sign up!”

And because my heart is the boss of me, I did! It’s a big investment, AND I fully trust that the investment will be flow out of my life and work for years to come. It starts in January and I AM SO EXCITED to fall into my creativity in a way I haven’t in a long, long time and have Annamieka’s Let’s Go Deep program guide me along the way.

Wanna join the fun?

I can’t encourage you enough to learn more about Annamieka and learn more about Let’s Go Deep, especially if your heart is longing as mine is. She’s got a great FAQ page about it, and if you wanna go super deep with even more guidance, she’s offering a VIP level with all sorts of 1:1 opportunities to work with her.

I told Annamieka that I was gonna share about why I registered for Let’s Go Deep and if there was anything she wanted me to tell you and this is what she said: “Oh yes! Tell them if they register by Nov 15th, they get two additional 1-on-1 mentoring sessions with me!”

Here’s to taking steps to turn up our lights. This kind of nourishment is deeply needed for our hearts, and for the world.

Big love, Kelly Rae

Sending much love,

Love💕. My form of art is my writing, which comes easily during angst. Since I’ve moved on to being a Recovering Widow, writings of my joy seem to take longer. I have loved witnessing all of your journey. Love the beautiful life you have built.

I’ve pretty much stopped calling it my writing. Im calling it my path.
I’m keeping a list of new favorite words such as languid, inspire, flowing etc. I sometimes pick up my dictionary and just browse. Then I also just write one liners, such as recently The King and Queen of Square Dance.
How were we to know we built our home on a fault in the earth known to eventurally lead to an earth quake. Who knows where that will take me. It’s turning into something fun. Reading old rejection letters is a waste and they shred so easily!!

Super loving these ideas, Christine. Path over writing. That speaks to me.

Like posibiltarian! Ive gotten stumped many times when people ask me what I do. I used to say I’m a writer. Usually the comment (from non-writers) is “Oh really. Have you been published?” I have a friend who answers something absurd like “I’m a cat psychiatrist” Have some fun with that question. If one has been published they want to know if it’s a book, etc
