25 years, y’all. ❤️

The first photo? That’s us in 1999, taken shortly after we met—two young dreamers, unaware of the journey ahead. The second? It’s us now, holding everything those 25 years have brought us.

Here’s what I’ve learned: there isn’t just one marriage in a marriage. There are so many marriages within a marriage. Each one a chapter, an era, shaped by who we were and what we were navigating at the time.

There was the blissed-out, starry-eyed new love era when everything felt exciting and infinite. Then the early parenting era, when life shifted in ways we couldn’t have fully prepared for—Big moves, sleepless nights, and the profound journey of learning to parent ourselves while also parenting True—a process nobody prepared us for but one that taught us that parenting wasn’t just about raising a child; it became a mirror, reflecting our own growth edges, calling us to deeper compassion, patience, and love.

There were several hard work eras sprinkled in, where we white-knuckled it through tough seasons. Therapy sessions where we faced our truths, unpacked the messy parts of ourselves, and learned how to meet those parts with grace and compassion.

Now? We’re in the post-deep-work era. It’s softer, more tender—built on the foundation of the individual work we’ve both done to heal, grow, and show up as our truest selves in our partnership. I’m really proud of us.

We’re deeply rooted now, nourished by years of learning how to listen, forgive, and be brave in our love. Here’s to all the eras - that we continue to do them turned toward one another with joy, honesty, vulnerability, and courage.
