bright as yellow friendships

Mar 16, 2007 | Life in Progress

Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You, too? Thought I was the only one.” CS Lewis
earlier today mati and i were in a hip san fran shoe store when both of us darted over to the yellow flats. yellow! you too? oh yes, i knew i liked her! are these not the coolest little yellow flats you’ve ever seen? mine are the bottom ones. mati bought the top ones. love it.

i LOVE mati’s expression in this photo.

it was a wondrous day with a new friend in the beautiful weather of the city. we talked a lot about creative business ideas, a collaborative project, creative dreams, other cool artists, art retreats, and the nitty gritty stuff that involves computer, packaging, and other detail stuff. i love sprouting out ideas and hearing how other people do it. it’s facinating. and i just really love seeing and chatting with her. there is something very sweet about being in the moment of making a new friend.

speaking of friends, my sassy and poetic friend liz elayne sent these gorgeous tulips yesterday. what a fun treat to arrive home and have them waiting. i love, love, love flowers in our apartment. i move them from room to room with me througout the day. is that weird? i don’t think so.

and last but not least, one of my bffs Kimmie came all the way to LA recently (from FL) for the girly show. she finally sent a few pics and this was one of them. it was taken the morning after the show, when i am still on a happy high, so thrilled to be sharing the experience with her. she just ran her first 15K run last weekend, just a few months after giving birth to her first baby! do you remember the old Sassy magazine, the one that is now Jane magazine? If you do, then you’ll remember that every year Sassy ran a contest called “Sassiest Girl in America.” well, i’m the proud bff of a former “Sassiest Girl in America, 1993.” kimmie still has the sass, and i love it.

the other day, john said in passing “man, you have good friends.” yes, yes, i do!

Sending much love,

I was just wondering – out of no where – what happened to all of the Sassiest Girls in America! I Googled, and here's a partial answer.

Geez, I just loved that magazine.

You’re not weird! I move flowers around in the same manner. I’m lucky, b/c the hubbie is a passionate gardener, so we have flowers that he’s grown year-round! 🙂

Enjoy your flowers – they give us hope for the world!
