This is my very first attempt at a self portrait. It’s an acrylic painting on 8×10 canvas. It’s nice to try new things, so thank you Inspire Me Thursday for just that: the inspiration.
Louise Hay + Kelly Rae = FULL BODY YES!
(Newish work, available in a variety of sizes here) I believe in making space. Sometimes, most of the time,...
what did you write on the canvas and what did you do the lettering with? It looks awesome!
Adorable! I love the colors. Very bright and full of life, I can definately see those qualities in your other photos! Brandi
Sooo BRIGHT! Hi! I am Cinda Rae, is your name all connected or is it Kelly Rae? Anyway, you did a SUPER job and if you haven’t seen it yet, it is posted at Inspire Me Thursday! Bravo!!!
I love it! It is so expressive and well done!
wow…
great job…
🙂
Nice, great colors, good job!
This is a wonderful self-portrait! You’ve got a great blog, wonderful photos, and fantastic art!
Ellen
this is gorgeous!!! you did a great job!
I really like the open exuberance of your face – big eyes, full mouth, red hair. The whole composition is warm and inviting…good job:>
This is SO beautiful! I love the colors you chose and the eyes are to inviting. Just lovely!
Do you notice in yoga that when you look at your face in the mirror it is not symmetrical…one side is more squished than the other, maybe your eyelid droops a little more than one etc?? Why is our heart on one side of our body more than the other? Internally & externally we are ever so slightly lopsided (most of us that is). I have been thinking a lot about this and your self portrait inspired me!! I really like the colors you use and that your art inspired me to verbalize…Roxanna
i think your portrait is great. they are not easy to do.
I love it just like the others! You have a knack for capturing details especially in the eyes. I look at them and totally see you. P.s. hope ya enjoy my not as creative “self portrait! hehehe.

Kelly – the self portrait is just beautiful! I wish I had your talent in watercoloring. WOW! Fabulous job!
Kel, I love it!
Ralph and I have been doing lots of photos lately, and I have so much trouble looking at myself in pictures. Maybe I should play around with a self-portraits, looking at myself in different ways, or how I’d like to be seen.
I love that you’ve been so creative lately. It’s totally inspiring.
Nice! I haven’t done a self-portrait since art school – I always found it such a weird and disconcerting thing to do, and I could NOT get a likeness for love or money. At the time though I was trying to draw realistically and I’ve moved away from that, so maybe I’d have more fun now.
Ohhh you did such a fab job. I am super impressed. I love your other work too.
