my mom and hugh grant

Aug 18, 2005 | Life in Progress

so, my mom had a funny dream about being in love with hugh grant. they were to be married in this dream when my mom realized that she was already married (hilarious). i was cracking up when she was telling me this dream. in the second part of her dream she is on the sinking titanic with her friends anne and sara and somehow they manage to get on one of the lifeboats. my mom remembers feeling quite safe on the lifeboat with her friends while looking back at the tragedy of the sinking giant. we decided her dream was a metaphor for her recent therapy sessions that are coming to a close. the titanic being her feelings of fear, anxiety, loss, etc. and the lifeboat representing her newfound feelings of being safe, supported by her friends, etc
so, i decided to be silly and i edited some famous titanic pictures and sent them to my mom who thought they were the funniest thing around. what i love about my mom is that she laughs a lot and it’s a loud, uninhibited laugh. you can hear it from across the house. it makes me smile every time.

Sending much love,
