Recently, I decided to update the design and text of several of our manifestos, including this one, the Kindness Changes Everything Manifesto. I love how it turned out.
I think about kindness a lot. How the spirit of compassion and connection weaves its magic. How witnessing even the smallest of kindnesses can bring me to my knees.
When I was four years old, one of my mom’s friends took me for a drive. I don’t remember much about her or even who she was, but I remember her directing all of her attention and sweetness toward me during a moment when I felt a little afraid in the backseat. It was a pivotal moment for my little 4 yr old self to feel seen, cared for, and loved up by her.
I was so struck by her kindness that I still remember it today, 45 years later.
Kindness is powerful. The giving of it. The receiving of it. The witnessing of it. It really does change everything.
For those of you interested in the new updated Kindness Manifesto, you can find it here. I particularly love it in the large size!)
