stupid knee

Aug 29, 2005 | Life in Progress

I’ve injured my knee. The last 2 weekends I haven’t been able to comfortably run past 4.5 miles. Last week I pushed it to 6.5 miles and I paid the price of limping around the following 2 days. Then today the pain occurred again right around 4.5 miles and I had to force myself to stop. They think I might have a “Baker’s cyst” and there is not much I can do about it but rest the knee. The crappy part about being injured is that I’ve worked so hard to develop cardiovascular endurance and now that i’m feeling great cardio-wise, i’m being forced to lighten up because of an injury. it’s so stupid! So, my plan is to run lighter runs during the week and throw in some yoga/pilates/swimming and see how quickly i can get this knee to heal. I’m slightly pissy about the whole thing right now. I should count my blessings. It could be worse.

Sending much love,
