i’m a lucky girl. i have the best girlfriends. really, i do. clare and i chatted for close to 2 hours this morning during our long awaited phone date. it was so great to hear her voice and get caught up on all that i’ve missed about her new life in nyc. i miss not having her in seattle. although i rarely actually saw her, it was comforting knowing she was close. nyc is just so damn far away. and it feels silly to have to make phone dates. but what’s a girl to do when her girlfriends live 3 timezones away?
after my clare fix, i spent the rest of the day with lovely sarah. we ate at Cup & Saucer, a for real portland style cafe, then wandered around downtown, sipped on hot tea, shopped for art supplies, anthropologie sales, tattered jeans. the sun snuck out a few times. good day. i love my little bohemian sarah. i will surely miss that girl when we move.
then it was off to Jessica and dave’s to watch dave’s amazing slideshow of his recent trip to mexico where he climbed a 17,000 feet high mountatin. amazing. i’m looking forward to seeing jessica a bit more when running season starts with PortlandFit later this month.
oh, and i talked with gina for a bit today. all is going well with baby Ian. they sent some photos online and he is so cute, and very expressive for a newborn!
it was a day of girlfriends, one of the very best kinds of days for me.
