Daydreaming about new ways of camping.

Friends, emotional day over here. Sobbed during the final offering that True’s preK teachers gave to their students today – wishes they tenderly wrote for each child, read aloud to the community. What a gift it has been to attend such a wholehearted school these last two years (Opal school up at the Childrens Museum) whose mantra is Nothing Without Joy. It was bittersweet to say goodbye today. But I couldn’t be more grateful for how they loved and tended and nurtured our True. Man. Also, their Reggio Emilia approach has forever informed my philosophy on learning. PS: True is holding a worm that he made that has “sliming super powers.”

We all escaped to the Oregon Coast this weekend. Wind. Ocean. Sand. Air. Pool. Hot tub. Perfect sunny weather. And this little cabin to call home. Heading back to the week rejuvenated and grateful.

Just got off the phone with my biz mgr Betsy Cordes and her husband (my biz attorney). Discussing big things and happenings and possibilities over here. Just when I think I’ve spread my wings fully I’m reminded I have much more span and width and depth that is waiting for me. Reminded these last few weeks that I’m being called to push my current edge and if I do, the horizon is endless.
Late afternoon dominos with True. Also, John handed me a blended cocktail and fresh mozzarella when I walked in the door. Whaaa? He knows me well.
Annnnd that’s a wrap. Thanks, Monday.

Hello summer. Today it’s admin day. Working on finishing touches for an exciting (dream come true) offering that I’ll announce/launch in a few days (can’t wait to share it with you guys!). Also, emails. Also, the high priority to do list which includes stuff like paperwork that I’ve procrastinated on for too long. Also, and perhaps most importantly just noticing and being grateful for the giant dose of sunshine and warmth this week in the great Portland. Ahhhhh.
This simple flower in a vase by True makes me happy. I look at it daily and it feels as good as a real bouquet of flowers to me.

This morning I’m checking out all the new growth in our backyard. The Passion flower is off the hook this year. Love, love, love.
Such beautiful instagrams – they radiate joy! That picture of your dog with tongue out is just so sweet and made me giggle :).

OMG! True went to the Opal School! As I’ve read your posts on True I thought he would be amazing in a Reggio school. Before I moved east I taught preschool in Portland for many years and have been Reggio inspired since their Hundred Languages of Children was on display there many years ago. Opal did not exist when I lived in Portland.
So I gotta ask… Where will he go next? Arbor? Catlin? I know True will get an amazing education and I look forward to hearing more in the future.
I love reading your instagram weekly roundups. Thanks so much for brightening my days and inspiring me over and over again!
We’ll see where he goes next! Thank you so so much for your kindness!!
