Did I tell you that we started a big backyard remodel project? We started it weeks and weeks ago (in the Spring), but it’s starting to come along now.

Our goal is to have a backyard that we actually use and enjoy year round (vs before when it was either a mud pit for most of the year [hello rainy climate!] or desert in the summer with zero shade). I am super excited about it and it feels like a dream come true.

This backyard space is pretty small (urban living), so we’re making it a small, cozy, lush, functional space. Not only does it house my art cottage, but when it’s done, it will have a covered outdoor living space with outdoor heaters and a fireplace, a hot tub under a pergola, a small paver section for a petite dining table, and hammock, and lots and lots of plants and mood lighting.

My head is gonna explode with excitement, ya’ll. AND as with any construction projects go, this has been months and months in the making. We’re about 3 weeks out from completion. Have you done a backyard remodel? Tell me about it. I just want to be outside as much as I can.
