Studio Tour! LOVE!

Jul 18, 2022 | Home + Studio Tours, Studio Tours

We’ve been in our new home in Sisters, OR for about 3 years. In that time, my studio, which is a sunny spare room in our home, has had a few different setups/layouts. For as long as I can remember, it has always taken me a lot to time to settle into a space. I often change rooms around until they feel just right. Anyway, I’ve had this latest setup for a bit now, and it feels just right!

I thought I’d take you on a little tour!

I have little ledges built on the walls that act as my easels, which is super convenient for a smallish studio. This photo shows one of my painting areas, but there is another wall to the right where I also paint. I also paint a lot of smaller works on the blue round table in the middle of the room.

I just roll my cart around between the painting areas as needed. Just about all of my art supplies that I use are on this cart. So handy!

On this ledge, I keep various finished works as well as works still in progress. What I love about the wall ledges/easels is that I can store canvases under them, all around the room which helps with storage.

One of my favorite spots is this huge cozy chair where I often read, chill, pause, look out the window, or snuggle with the dogs and/or True.

I’m totally obsessed with this old pie safe that I used in my old retail shop. Nowadays, it lives in my little studio and holds all sorts of stuff, mainly card decks, books, magazines.

I converted the room’s closet into my desk area, which I love, love, love. I recently invested in my very first desktop ever. I have been working on a laptop since 2006 when I started my creative business, and I had NO IDEA how dreamy it is to have an actual desktop with a large screen. it more than I can say.

I’ve been spending a lot of time using this particular space as I gear up to launch the NEW Art Dates With Kelly Rae & Friends, which let me just say has my heart all kinds of excited.

I have lots of plants in this space, too, which I find so soothing and calming.

There you have it my friends! I hope you enjoyed this little tour. I have had all kinds of studio spaces through the years and this little one is nourishing me up in all the best ways. I am especially excited to use it these next many months as I focus on all new things happening over here!

If you haven’t heard the news, be sure to click over and watch the video I made for you over in this post!

xo!

Sending much love,

A gorgeous space! Has given me lots of inspiration for my planned new studio at my new cottage home. Love the ledge idea that your paintings sit on and the old vintage suitcase full of art supplies.

What a gorgeous space! What’s the title of the turquoise coloured book behind the lamp on your desk? (As I write, it occurs to me that it mightn’t be a book but a canvas.)

      Thanks, Kat!

Oh. yes, that is Nathalie Lete’s book. She is one of my favorite aritst and I love having her book right in front of me for inspiration 🙂
