Weekly Update – Making It Happen

Jul 27, 2017 | Life in Progress

I’m obsessed with Instagram – it’s my favorite online home! Here’s a recap from the last week, and for those of you who aren’t on Instagram, come and join me!

Saturday, July 22

I am so loving this summer with this little guy of ours. I love that he loves being around us, and how he shows his complete adoration of us. I love how completely in love he is with his grands, his lovies, his dog. I love how his joy often seen by his skipping and dancing around the house. I love how he loves to talk, about anything and everything including fears and feelings. I love that he is a deeply sensitive child, requiring sensitive parenting that aligns with my soul completely and deeply. I love how happy and delighted he is to be outside and climb trees and name plants and bird sounds. He is having a dreamy childhood. It has been my deepest honor to be one of his guides along the way. Photo by @shesawthingsphoto

Today was my first full work day IN THE NEW STUDIO SHED! I will have a full tour coming up soon, but so far I love it here. Feels like a fort. Like a little clubhouse. Like a tiny castle. Like a dollhouse. For the finishing touches, I hung up the art, string lights, and some bunting that my sister and mom made from old doilies. I also added many plants. And now here I am, with my OMG face. I’m just as excited to move into this little 8×10 space as I have been to move into my 900 square foot studios in previous years. Love.

Today was a day, friends. Beth (@bethkempton) and I were supposed to do a live Facebook Q+A chat with our AMAZING Hello Soul Hello Business sisterhood/community only to be met with tech issues. Oh no!
.
We ended up recording the answers to all the questions via a Skype split/screen recording and it took 2.5 hours to answer all the questions. TWO+ HOURS and I loved every stinking second of talking about women and biz. I could do this all day long. This is our first month of this sisterhood, and I’m blown away by the quality of thoughtful questions and how much we are learning together.
.
Also, breaking news: my hair is finally long enough that I can french braid it. I’m thinking I’m going to let my hair grow as long as it wants to. Perhaps past my shoulders, which hasn’t happened since I was True’s age.
.
After a week of feeling meh, I’m feeling the turn around today.

Tuesday, July 25

Current scene. Lulu + color = swoon.

Wednesday, July 26

Summertime. Dahlias always win. Happy Wednesday, friends. Xo

Making it happen, y’all. Making it happen. Last week I was all meh. This week I’m back to it. 8 months into my fitness journey and I’m definitely learning that it’s about overall/macro forward motion vs getting caught up on a string of days that could have gone better. Hello self compassion. And perhaps more importantly in a million different ways, permission to TRUST that all of my efforts will not go out the window if I have a meh week. Ditto for everything in life that is worth the soul work.
