Weekly Update – Wandering, Resting, Adventuring

I’m obsessed with Instagram – it’s my favorite online home! Here’s a recap from the last week, and for those of you who aren’t on Instagram, come and join me!

KRR vase sketch

This was fun to make, inspired by my head vase sample that never made it to market.

KRR smoothie

Morning ritual. Spinach, Greek nonfat yogurt, frozen tropical fruit. Delish.

KRR living room

Currently resting after a two hour meeting with Nichole. Heading out soon to record our next podcast!

KRR lulu mermaid

Apparently it’s national dog day! Thought I’d share this drawing of Lulu as a mermaid. Seriously, how hilarious is this? Thank you @annamiekaart for the drawing!

KRR books

I’m on a big book kick right now. Which means I picked a few new ones for True as well. He loves these and I love them too.

KRR lulu WW

Having my morning tea. My view while I sip. Black tea with sugar and milk. It’s 4-5 weight watcher points (sugar) but at least I’m down to one cup a day vs two or three. The WW thing is good. Need to start moving my body more. Getting there!

KRR true nofilter

It’s been a full summer over here. Filled with mountain biking (he is obsessed) the trails with John, endless swimming (obsessed with snorkeling), playing his music, camping, adventuring with the Grands, and games games games. The stuff of summer. The stuff of childhood. During the Olympics he told me, “Mom, if snuggling was an Olympic sport, you’d win gold.”

True starts school in about a week. And not just any school, but a school that is outside on a magical farm in the woods. Rain or shine (and it rains a lot here in OR), he will go. He will garden, tend to bees and chickens, grow food and flowers in his garden plot. He will sing and dance and build forts and do yoga and art with his classmates. He will learn outdoor survival. (He is very excited about whittling.) He will learn reading and writing and math and art and language and so much more from the lens of nature and Earth. It’s a huge deal as we gear up for this big transition into grade school and even more into this particular school. I am so excited for him and for us as a family to be a part of such a special and unique community of out outdoor schooling. As a family we are definitely pushing our edges of comfort zone and yet the thing we are all working on is taking more risks and being braver. And also. John and I both share a deep deep knowing that this is where True will excel and grow and unleash and learn and be nurtured and challenged in all the best ways. So here we go friends. This feels BIG. KRR green

Decided to take a last minute family adventure trip to Bend, OR before school starts next week. We stopped along the way for some trail time. The boys are mountain biking and Lulu and I are hiking. Can we please take a moment and geek out over the green?

Wednesday, August 31

KRR clover

While looking for a four leaf clover, I found a two leaf one instead. Hello butterfly! Today I’m in Bend, OR, wandering, resting, adventuring.

Sending much love,
