Lise’s full story is a testament to the powerful ways in which art heals. And it’s a testament to the truth that you just never know the impact your story will have on another. The circle is wide – the giving of our stories, and the receiving of healing and truth that we get from the stories of others. I have been incredibly impacted by the stories, talents, wisdom, and art of others. But I don’t often allow myself to see how my particular story or my art matters. I know it matters, but I don’t often get a glimpse into its impact until something like this arrives in my inbox. It’s humbling. It’s eye opening. And it causes the breaking open of a small particular crack that holds such tenderness toward myself. Oh, I do make a difference. What I’m doing does matter.
