portland bound

Oct 2, 2007 | Life in Progress

i’m off to art&soul in portland. i am thrilled to be heading home, to my favorite city, to where Autumn has truly arrived, where every shade of green is everywhere in the lushness of the landscape . coming with me: my camera, my raincoat, my brown boots, and a lot of art supplies. i’ll see all my favorite portland peeps and visit all my familiar and beloved places. i’ll stand still in the cooler air and feel the mist of the ever familiar northwest rain. one of the highlights will be seeing my bff of 20 years, gina, who will also be in town (we lived together in portland for several years long ago) from atlanta. it’s been over a year since i last saw her. too long. i have a long list of friend dates, and alone dates, too, where i’ll wander all over the city and look at all that has changed and is changing. i’m feeling all nostalgic as i write this. i’m reminded of all that we’ve adjusted to since moving here just over a year ago and all that i miss. it will be good to be home for a week.

and of course, there will be art&soul and classes and art friends! this will be my 4th art retreat i’ve attended. they are events that change people. the energy. the creativity. ideas are born and discussed. passion is everywhere. there is an infectious happiness. people are everywhere, chatting it up, making connections, having aha moments about their lives and creativity. it’s pretty amazing.

so, i’ll be back in this space in a week with many photos and stories to share….
xo

Sending much love,
