Portland Bridge Pedal

Aug 15, 2005 | Life in Progress

So john and i spontaneously decided last evening that we should do the 35 mile portland bridge pedal over all 10 of city’s bridges. So, that’s what we did this morning. It was glorious, a bit crowed, but glorious. It’s a huge event. They do it every year but this was our first time. The weather was just perfect and the views from the top of those bridges were spectacular. I was listening to my ipod shuffle during some of the ride and just as i was reaching the top of one of the highest, most spectacular bridges that song from Marcy’s Playground came on – the one about discovering different parts of America and one of the lyrics goes ‘oh and i never want to leave this place…yes i always want to be right here.’ And there i was listening to that song, looking out into an amazing view, an amazing city, on an absolutely gorgeous day. it’s hard for me to imagine living anywhere else. Portland is hands down the best city to be.

Sending much love,
