(New Art! Stand Tell in Your Truth)

This new painting has a lot of meaning for me. Standing tall in my truth means speaking up. Rising up. Standing up. There is so much happening in our world right now, including so much uncertainty here in the US. Like so many of us, I’m feeling the call to activate parts of myself that have been complacent for far too long.

Standing tall in my truth also – for me – means taking a thoughtful look at my life and continuing the controlled burn of the landscape of my life. My truth always seems to circle back to this knowing: I want a simple life.

And so. I’ve made some big moves lately to honor that truth and knowing. And one of those moves was to let my beloved studio go.

I spent last week moving out of the space. With each box packed, a prayer of gratitude was said. This studio, like all the others, served me well. It ushered me into so much goodness, creativity, collaboration, and in the end, clarity.

When the space was fully cleared, I took a peek through the closed and locked door one last time. Deep breath. And then I glanced at my phone and saw 11:11 staring back a me. Yes, a sign, and I’ll take it. For all the knowing in my bones that this was the right move, it still felt wonderful to get the divine message that I was on the right track.

After about 4 years of having my studio outside of my home (hello, small child at home!), I am finally back home.  Here’s a peek into the new space. I’ll share a full tour soon, but if you’re interested in the patchwork wallpaper wall, I’ve got a tutorial of it over here.

After many years (ten!) of moving apartments, homes, cities, and studios, I’m SO HAPPY to have landed here in this spare bedroom of my home. My heart could not be more thrilled to have made a move toward that life of simplicity that is calling me. I am home.

PS: For those asking, Nichole is still with me as my community care and engagement manager! She’s working from a coworking space and absolutely loving it. 🙂

Wanna be weekly art buddies? Come check out my weekly video program called Kelly Rae Unscripted. Every week, you’ll get a new video (totally unscripted!) showing you how I create. In my private studio, at my table, I’ll talk you through each move and mark I make. It will be awesome. And spontaneous. And 100% real.

Big love,

Hi, I'm Kelly Rae Roberts!
