Some thoughts on having my photo taken by In Her Image Photography

Aug 27, 2018 | Life in Progress

Ten years ago I showed up scared, nervous, and uneasy to my first portrait photo session. The photographer, Denise Andrade, put me at ease immediately and what followed was an experience that truly blew my heart wide open to myself. The photos that resulted from our time together helped me SEE myself with more clarity, compassion and beauty. Hello, awakening! Some of those photos can be seen here. I was 32 years old and truly taking flight into a version of myself (an artist!) that had been waiting for me my whole life.

Fast forward ten years and I recently found myself in front of the lens again, but this time with Heidi and Tara, the truly stunning souls behind In Her Image Photography. I’ve been doing a bit of re-branding over here for my business (more on that later) and it was time to get some new fresh imagery.

Once again, I was astonished how cracked open I was by the experience of being seen, truly SEEN.  What a gift it is to have your essence not only seen but captured in stunning, gorgeous photos. If you ever have an opportunity to work with Heidi and Tara, I can’t recommend it enough. They were loving, gracious, fierce about their vision, and ridiculously talented. I can’t wait to do it again in a few years!

I thought I would share some of my favorites with you!

Thank you, Heidi + Tara. I am grateful and I know that these photos will be cherished by me and my family always. Thank you for the permission to shine, to step deeper into my skin despite insecurities, to celebrate this very moment of my life.

Kelly Rae

Sending much love,
