Many years ago, I think it was 2008, I had a mystical experience one morning following a restless sleep on the night of a Full Moon. Does anyone else struggle to sleep during the Full Moon? Anyway, on this particular morning, I woke up, but before I could fully wake and get on with my day, I felt a rush of soft, comforting, overwhelming Love fill my whole body. For a few short minutes, I had a crystal clear vision of myself through the eyes of others (in human and spirit worlds) who loved me.
It was like getting a superpower – but only for a minute or two – of feeling how dear and precious and cherished I was by others. I teared up at the wonder of it all. This is how I’m seen? This is how I’m held? Wow, wow, wow. It was a clearer, more loving, more generous view of myself – one I had never had before – and for about 120 seconds, I truly felt the love of and the beauty of my own magnificence.
Afterward, I carried on with my day, but I’ve never forgotten the feeling of that experience. It was a profound gift.
Here’s to the glimpses, however brief they may be, of our own magnificence. You. Are. A. Wonder.
