You guys, we sold our 1974 Orange Crush VW Bus. Letting it go was a little bittersweet…so many adventures in it (like this one) but practicality won out on this one and we hated that it wasn’t getting as much love as it used to. We’re upgrading to a 21st century Eurovan! In the meantime, we sold our beloved bus to none other than Katie Daisy who I’m pretty sure met her car soul mate in the Orange Crush. I adore her, her art, and all the ways she’s going to adventure it up in this bus. Thank you, Orange Crush, for the memories!

Our neighborhood has sprung, and boy is it gorgeous. We’ve been taking these really long walks, all three of us, in the mornings. Feels like we’re rediscovering our neighborhood with each walk. LOVE! Also just loving the groove that we’re falling into now that John is a stay at home papa. Endlessly grateful for it.
That’s True standing next to his tree that we planted the year he was born. Don’t get me started on the haircut. I am still cutting his hair hence the bowl cut, and the wonky unevenness. I’m hoping one day soon he’ll agree to someone else cutting his hair (he’s just not ready). In the meantime, we’ll continue to create some hilarious moments and memories.
I love being his mom. People are often amazed at three things when it comes to True: his physical agility (bouncing basketballs, hula hooping, speeding down the sidewalk in scooters and balance bikes – this kid rarely stops moving), his calm demeanor when it comes to just about everything (he’s very agreeable for a two year old – hoping this continues!), and his love of learning songs and singing them from start to finish (
God Bless America,
Hey Jude,
You are my sunshine, Let it Be…and his latest is Rolling Stones “Satisfaction”)

We stared a new Gratitude list on the refrigerator. I’m finding that having it front and center in our kitchen is the only way I’m certain to use it. My heart rests knowing that it’s holding all the tiny moments that I want to remember (but often don’t make it to a journal or scrapbook) – mostly around whatever funny/sweet thing True did that day or some tiny exchange between me and John – it’s the littlest things, no? These gratitude lists/sheets are becoming my way to quickly journal our days. We rolled up our
last one and put it in the memory box. LOVE!
Sending gratitude out to each of you!
xxo
It is finally feeling more like spring which makes me want to celebrate the sunshine and early flowers starting to bloom!
I am celebrating the magic found in the joyful moments that I am seeking to cultivate. The more I find the more I am motivated to seek…and share <3
I have been recently experimenting with mixed media art. Where have you been all my life! There are soooo many great artists, tools and styles. I feel ADD with it all. I'd love to take almost any workshop to practice focusing on a few things.
Kelly Rae was my first random introduction to an accessible mixed media method via Taking Flight, a book I found in my local library. ("Everyday Gratitude" for the public library system).
Thanks for opening a whole new world to me Kelly Rae!

Awww – I LOVED the Orange Crush! But I can't WAIT to see what Katie does with it!! I hope she paints one of her designs on the side!! That'd be so cool!!
Love True's tree! The white blooms are simply beautiful, and he looks so proud standing next to it. So neat for you to watch both him and his tree grow. What kind of tree is it? Either way, simply beautiful.
Your neighborhood is absolutely divine! (as is the photo, too, by the way)
The way you express yourself is so lovely. The pictures are delightful. Your family is beautiful. Thank you for sharing a little bit of you. You are an inspiration! ~ Suzanne Fernald

Oh, Kelly Rae! The hoola hoop picture of Mr. True is awesome! LOVE it so! I had to laugh when I opened your post, because this very morning I did a post on my blog called "Around these parts" where I share some photos of our recent days. It makes me smile to find you doing the same thing! Love the little peek at your life. Thanks for sharing!
