i’m a fan

Feb 10, 2006 | Life in Progress

we went to see the Mason Jennings show last nite. it was just him, his piano, and his guitar. and can i just say i am totally in love with his music right now? it’s folksy, sincere, honest lyrics, strong and vulnerable at the same time. it gives me the chills – in a good way – the kind that you get when you are touched to the bones by goodness. at the end of the show he stood alone on that huge stage and took a long, hard look at the audience as he said thank you and exited the stage. you could tell he was taking it in, every moment of it. and i thought that was not only cool, but likely indicative of his spirit. he sings about things that make him feel good. and you just don’t hear a lot of that in music. i guess you could call me a fan.

i’ve asked for a ton of time off from work. a long 4 day weekend in may for kat’s wedding. 7 days in march (no plans yet). and 7 days towards the end of may. just the thought of it makes me giggle.

Sending much love,
