I’m obsessed with Instagram – it’s my favorite online home! Here’s a recap from the last week, and for those of you who aren’t on Instagram, come and join me!
Thursday, August 4
We’re all currently at the Ziggy Marley concert and somebody is digging it.
Friday, August 5
Today I’m wearing this gorgeous necklace gifted to me by Liz Lamoreux who is my first art friend I met along the path of becoming an artist. She knows “brave in sadness, brave in love” is my ultimate mantra and that she made this all for me made my soul shine. Also the blue kyanite is for speaking our truth and the rose Quartz is for self love. Ahhhhh.
I have so much to tell you! First, I started Weight Watchers a few days ago. I’m excited to try something new around my eating habits and I’m already realizing this week that my portions have been HUGE compared to what is suggested. Also, peaches. I have discovered PEACHES! I love them. Big time. Do any of you do ww? I’m doing the smart points plan (30 points a day) and so far I’m digging the ease of the app that tracks stuff as the day unfolds.
Hello, long weekend. Here’s to four long days of much needed and wanted time with my boys.
Saturday, August 6
I’ve declared the entire month of August for a focus on family and self reconnection time. I struggle (as so many of us do!) with the harmony (not balance, but harmony) of wife, mama, and all the other roles we play, especially (for me) my role as an artist and biz owner. I am in constant need of space, alone time, and freedom yet the pulls of everyday life are just that. Pulls. There is a consistent tension and checking in with myself and making micro adjustments all of the time so that the harmony remains. July was HUGE for me. Lots of output. Lots of courage. Lots of work. August is set for much need time with my people, my body, my heart. I’m currently at the gorgeous Oregon Coast with the boys. John and True are at the skatepark right next to this wide open park where Lulu and I are perched under a tree with my fave magazine.
Sunday, August 7
Quiet. In tune. Space. Sending love across the interwebs today.
Tuesday, August 9
He’s super into watching the Olympics. Yesterday while playing games in the pool, he said, “Hey Mom, would you rather play for Germany or Sweetland?” I know he meant Sweden, but I like Sweetland better. This kid. He is my dream child.
Three heart rocks and a white fresh feather. Found in my favorite, Manzanita, Oregon.
Thursday, August 11
Loving this new piece. Back in the studio and loving making stuff lately.
Completely CRUSHING on this new Pam Garrison painting I put up on our mantel. I believe in not only wearing our joy but surrounding ourselves with it in our homes. The energy of what we love infuses our spaces with just that: love. Thank you, Pam for this precious gift!
Re Weight Watchers….still the healthiest weight loss program out there; I lost over 30 lbs on it and was even a leader for it for a while; You’ll do great…main thing to remember tho is to faithfully keep your daily food intake journal…too easy to not be aware of what we put in our mouths if not keeping track of it; some 20 plus years later if I gain a few pounds & am struggling to get it off I know to start writing down food intake.
BEST OF LUCK, KELLY. Please let us know how you do.
